NEW DAKOTA Is a New York City-area trio that covers tunes from The Allman Brothers to ZZ Top and a wide variety of music in between.

You can hear guitarist Todd Johnson’s Texas roots in his guitar licks and soulful vocals. Kevin Walker lays down solid bass lines perfected over years of playing with several previous acts. Van Thorne on drums keeps the rhythm pumping and helps with vocal duties as the band rips through songs ranging from the classic rock of The Doobie Brothers and Jimi Hendrix, to the smokin’ blues of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric Clapton, to the country-influenced work of artists such as Johnny Cash and The Grateful Dead and then back to the modern with Sublime, Kings of Leon, The Killers and One Republic.  If the venue requires a lighter touch, the band can also ratchet it back and perform acoustically to match the mood or occasion.

This band doesn’t discriminate against any genre—as long as they enjoy playing it and the crowd loves hearing it. Known for their musicianship, song selection, camaraderie and humor, New Dakota is always a crowd pleaser.
